The obligatory "I'm not dead" post... part 2

Mmmm... I think I might have already used that as a title before... How's that for inspired?

So there it is. I am not dead. Living in fact. Living largely, as my waistline would suggest. So umm yeah. Where to begin? Work work work. Always seems like a natural start.

Work has been quite busy of late for me; which is a good thing. I think for a while I was growing discontent with my destiny working in the House of Uncle Ted fixing computers that go into making Uncle Ted's Widgets. A few months back, I was given an offer to work at one of the other Widget factories downtown, with a whole different flavor of computers to fix, let alone a whole different type of widget being made. Long story short (with as few widgets as possible) I've been enjoying it. Everyday keeps me running in different directions, working with new and exciting people, on new and different hardware. I hit my 10 year anniversary working at The House of Uncle Ted at the end of October which just blows my mind... I really interviewed there initially because of my friend Jim that worked there, and it seemed like a lark. A 10 freakin-year lark. Crazy.

I've been threatening a redesign now for probably a year... and that has hampered my gusto to post ever more pontifications, because of what I want to be the "next big thing" on the site... Meh. So, I've gone through the Agent86 phase, now the Contrarian Grammarian thing, but I'm now feeling like I want to try something different.

Perhaps I need to set a deadline for myself to make sure something happens... Mark my words, that the "new look" will be here by the end of the Thanksgiving Day weekend. Kind of a tall order really. There's a Doctor Who convention going on in Rosemont, I'll be borderline comatose from eating too much turkey and cracker and bacon stuffing, and I'm sure I'll have a Tivo full of Star Trek:TNG and the Facts of life to watch.

Note to self... consider the gauntlet thrown.

In any case, to both of the people that look in on this site, sorry for the lack of interesting things here for, uhm, a long time.

Update: Okay... So after I posted that whole screed, I went ahead and went with a new look. It's the general idea I'm going for, but as always, it's not quite exactly what I want. expect further tweaks. or not.
